Your privacy matters to us

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading these things. But we're not some faceless corporation, we're a small shop in North Vancouver that works on some seriously nice vehicles. So yeah, we take your privacy pretty seriously 'cause we'd want the same if roles were reversed.
When you bring your Porsche, BMW, or whatever sweet ride you're driving to our shop, we're gonna need some basics. Your name, phone number, email - the usual stuff so we can actually get in touch when your car's ready. We also keep records of what work we did on your vehicle, 'cause honestly that helps us do a better job next time you roll in.
If you book online through our website, we'll collect whatever you give us in that form. Credit card info if you're paying that way gets processed through secure payment systems - we don't store that stuff on our end. Not worth the hassle or risk, frankly.
Our site uses cookies. Nothing crazy - just basic stuff to remember your preferences and make the booking system work smoother. Your browser probably warned you about it already.
Pretty straightforward - we use it to fix your car and run our business. That means:
We might occasionally send out updates about our services or special deals, but you can opt out anytime. Just shoot us an email or tell us when you're at the shop.
We're not in the business of selling your data. That's not what we do here. The only time your info leaves our shop is when it's necessary for the actual work:
That's basically it. We're not sharing your contact info with marketing companies or anything shady like that.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Our computer systems are password-protected, we use encrypted connections for online stuff, and physical records are locked up at night. We're not Fort Knox, but we take reasonable precautions.
That said, nothing's 100% foolproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP as required by Canadian law.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA for those keeping score), you've got some rights here:
Just give us a call at (604) 555-8742 or email service@halvorynthodyssey.info if you wanna exercise any of these rights. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.
We keep your service records for as long as you're a customer and for several years after 'cause it's useful for warranty work and troubleshooting. Plus, Canadian tax law requires us to keep financial records for at least seven years. After that, we securely delete or destroy the information.
If you haven't been in for a while and ask us to delete your info, we'll do it - except for what we legally have to keep.
Our website might have links to other sites - maybe a parts manufacturer or something. Once you click away from our site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. Check their policies if you're concerned.
We might update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make any big changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. We're not gonna email everyone every time we tweak a sentence, but major changes? Yeah, we'll let you know.
If you've got questions or concerns about how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're pretty easy to get hold of:

Seriously, we're not trying to be weird about your data. We just wanna fix your car and do good work. That's the whole point of running this shop.
Bottom Line: We collect what we need to service your vehicle and run our business. We don't sell it, we don't spam you, and we protect it the best we can. If you've got concerns, talk to us. We're real people here.
