Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished corporate origin story. Truth is, this whole thing started in a cramped garage back in 2011 with barely enough room to swing a torque wrench.
I'd been wrenching on European cars for years - started as an apprentice at a BMW dealership right outta high school, then bounced around a few shops learning everything I could about Audis, Mercedes, Porsches, you name it. Got tired of seeing folks getting the runaround at big-name places that treated every car like it was on an assembly line.
So yeah, took the plunge. Rented this old industrial space on Marine Drive that used to be a boat repair shop - still had the smell of marine varnish when we moved in. Fixed that real quick with the scent of brake cleaner and coffee.
First year was rough, not gonna lie. Lived on instant ramen and worked 14-hour days. But word travels fast in North Van when you actually give a damn about someone's pride and joy. That first restored '78 E-Class we did? Guy nearly cried when he picked it up. That's when I knew we were onto something real.
Fast forward to now - we've got a proper team, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and a bay that doesn't leak when it rains. But the core hasn't changed one bit. Every car that comes through gets treated like it's the only one we're working on that day.
